Mortal Kombat, the critically acclaimed 2011 reboot of the gory beat-‘em-up series, will arrive on PlayStation Vita in Spring 2012, Warner has announced.
The PS Vita version of the brutal brawler will feature all-new gameplay features and content developed specifically for Sony’s new handheld.
Ed Boon, Creative Director at NetherRealm and co-creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise, commented: “The NetherRealm team is committed to making sure that we follow up the success of 2011’s Mortal Kombat with an equally compelling experience on the PlayStation Vita.”
“The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform.”
Mortal Kombat originally hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in April 2011 and has moved over three million copies globally to date.
