Electronic Arts has confirmed that Star War Battlefront will be coming to current-generation consoles only, and will not be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
This makes the hotly anticipated sci-fi romp the first multiformat shooter from EA to miss a last-gen release.
Star Wars Battlefront will receive its debut gameplay footage at the Star Wars Celebration in April. The game is still expected to be powered by the Frostbite engine, which is the same technology behind Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline.
Star Wars Battlefront is due out in holiday 2015 to coincide with the next chapter in the Star Wars movie franchise, The Force Awakens. The game was first announced at E3 2013, and a year later it was confirmed by EA that Hoth and Endor would feature in the title.
