SEGA has announced plans to release a remaster of Valkyria Chronicles for the PlayStation 4 in Japan in February 2016.
As reported in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine (via Gematsu), the high-definition remake of the original game will include downloadable content and Trophy support, and will retail for 4,990 yen. If that wasn’t enough, the publication also confirmed development of Valkyria: Azure Revolution, an all-new chapter in the beloved franchise that is currently pencilled in for a winter 2016 release in Japan. No plans for a western launch for either game have been confirmed yet.
The Valkyria Chronicles Remaster will also ship with a demo of the forthcoming Azure Revolution, and SEGA plans to take into account user feedback from those lucky enough to play the teaser. See below for a roundup of basic info on Valkyria: Azure Revolution.

Valkyria Chronicles was originally released on the PlayStation 3 in 2008, and received critical acclaim from the gaming press. The game’s success spawned two sequels on PlayStation Portable: 2011’s Valkyria Chronicles, released in Japan, U.S. and Europe, and Valkyria Chronicles III, also released in 2011 but as a Japanese-exclusive. Valkyria Chronicles proved so successful in its native country that it quickly became a multi-media franchise, with numerous mangas and an anime series being developed over the years.
