Sony’s PlayStation 3 has every chance of outselling Xbox 360 this holiday season unless Microsoft slashes the price of its flagship console.
That’s according to Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter, who labelled the upcoming holiday console war between both platforms a "close call."
"If Microsoft does nothing, I think PS3 will outsell Xbox 360," said Pachter, during a chat with IndustryGamers. "However, my friends at Microsoft are extremely proud, and they absolutely refuse to tolerate the possibility that the PS3 will outsell the Xbox 360. I think they have the ads printed for the Xbox 360 price cut, and will drop them on us the instant they see PS3 sales greater than 360 sales."
PS3 received a worldwide price drop at Gamescom a few weeks back, resulting in sales spiking significantly in both the U.S. and U.K.
