Sony: PSN now has 90 million accounts

Sony now has roughly 90 million PlayStation Network accounts worldwide, from PlayStation 3, PSP, and PlayStation Vita owners. Sony Computer Entertainment America’s manager of Developer Relations Ted Regulski also said during GDC that Sony’s online platform provides a better royalty rate than its main competitors, Microsoft and Nintendo.

Regulski also said Sony was “the only major console publisher to allow self-publishing.” He said there are others, but their publishing rules “aren’t much fun.” He added, “there are no weird limits you have to hit in order for us to pay you.”

Expect to hear more from Sony at GDC.
