Grasshopper Manufacturer’s Lollipop Chainsaw will be hitting PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Kadokawa Games have announced.
The news comes as part of a partnership between Warner and Kadokawa to publish the Goichi Suda-designed actioner in the west following the game’s announcement last month.
In addition, Warner has snapped up Hollywood director James Gunn to inject his trademark humour and acclaimed storytelling into the game, which features a score composed by Silent Hill sound legend, Akira Yamaoka.
Speaking on the move, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president Martin Tremblay commented: "Our exciting partnership with Kadokawa Games allows us to try something new by bringing a very unique game like Lollipop Chainsaw to Western markets.”
"Grasshopper Manufacture’s games have shown tremendous success with gamers around the globe and we are delighted to expand our portfolio of Japanese-developed games."
Lollipop Chainsaw sees cheerleader Juliet Starling slicing and dicing her way through hordes walking corpses in an attempt to uncover the reason behind a zombie outbreak in California.
