Watch Dogs PS4 to perform better than Xbox One release, claims insider

Industry insider Ahsan Rasheed has suggested that the PlayStation 4 version of Ubisoft’s open-world hacking title Watch_Dogs will possess a superior frame rate to the Xbox One release.

The comments come in light of confirmation that Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition will run at 60fps on Sony’s new home console, in comparison to the 30fps achieved by Microsoft’s machine.

“Wait till Watch_Dogs :). PC>>PS4>>>>Xbox One>>>>>WiiU,” tweeted Rasheed (via GamingBolt).

While this is his personal opinion on the matter, it isn’t too hard to imagine this happening given the fact numerous Xbox One titles have performed notably worse than their PS4 counterparts. Aside from Tomb Raider, Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag are among the games that run more smoothly on Sony’s platform.

Furthermore, Rasheed doesn’t predict this disparity between the performance of third-party games on next-gen consoles will disappear any time soon.

“Further PS4 optimization in year 3/4 will widen the delta of performance gap,” he said.

Watch_Dogs is due for release later this year on multiple platforms.
