It’s been nearly 24 hours since Sony’s E3 press event, and we are still trying to keep our heads from spinning. We saw a ton of great content, like this gameplay demo of The Last of Us and Quantic Dream’s new game, Beyond. We even got a chance to check out the unexpected Wonderbook, and while that’s probably not the highlight for core gamers, it’s clear Sony isn’t throwing the towel in for the PlayStation 3. The new God of War looks great, as does third-party games like Assassin’s Creed III. But, we can’t help and feel we were missing something. Maybe we were missing a big new IP reveal, more PlayStation Vita game demos or App announcements, or bigger changes to the PlayStation Network and PS Plus service.
So the question we would like to propose to you, the biggest and most dedicated PlayStation fans, is: what was missing from Sony’s press conference? We’re you satisfied? Did it feel like Christmas morning? Were you hoping to hear details on a new console? Where was The Last Guardian? Whatever happened to Agent?
For this PlayStation fan, I was a tad, just a tad, underwhelmed. All the gameplay demos looked incredible, of course, but I was hoping for something that really surprised me. Perhaps those big E3 surprises will come when Sony announces its next home console. Maybe the company is just holding off those big surprise new IPs and long-discussed, rarely updated games like The Last Guardian, and additional PSN services for when it launches its next gen console. Still, we want to hear from you. What did you think of Sony’s press event now that you’ve had some time to digest it?
