Andrew House confirmed as new boss of Sony Entertainment Network

The Financial Times has confirmed that Sony Computer Entertainment boss Andrew House is replacing Tim Schaaff as president of Sony Entertainment Network.

House will assume the role in 2013 and will juggle duties previously handled by Schaaff in addition to his current tasks as CEO of SCE. Schaaff will step down on December 31, 2012 and will “remain an outside director of the unit.”

As head of SNE, House will be keeping an eye on Sony’s flagship online service, PlayStation Network, and oversee the platform holder’s digital music and TV service initiatives.

As you may recall, House took over as president and CEO of SCE from Kazuo Hirai earlier this year. Hirai, of course, continued to climb the corporate ladder and took over the reins of Sony Corporation on April 1, 2012.

As for Schaaff, he’s stepping down in order to spend more time with his family.
