Brighton-based The Chinese Room–the studio behind PC indie hit Dear Esther–has revealed the first details about Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, a first person, story-driven adventure for PlayStation 4.
Over at the official PlayStation blog, co-directors Dan and Jessica explain more about the title which sees players taking the role of a scientist who seeks to discover why the world has experienced an apocalypse.
“It’s all about the end of the world,” explains The Chinese Room. “You play the role of a scientist, trapped in the very second of the apocalypse, and the game is about discovering what has happened. You do this by exploring a large open-world environment, and interacting with the objects, places and people you find to gradually unlock and put together the story.”
The developer goes on to say that Rapture is a powerful and non-linear adventure that focuses on the storyline and the emotional journey of the characters.
