The PlayStation Plus October free games are just a matter of weeks away now, and we can expect official word from Sony on the full lineup at the end of the month.
PS Plus members are able to scoop up a handful of free PS4, PS3, and PS Vita games each month as part of Sony’s PS Plus premium subscription service, which includes a diverse range of title spanning multiple genres.
PlayStation Plus price change
Sony recently announced a PS Plus price rise, which went into effect on August 31 for various European countries, so we’re hoping that we’ll see some decent games in October, where we’re also hoping to see the arrival of PS4 update 5.0.
The PS Plus free games lineup has remained pretty strong the past few months. The July PS Plus lineup included Life is Strange and Killing Floor 2, while the August free games list featured Just Cause 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry. The September games were also decent with the likes of inFamous: Second Son.

PlayStation Plus October 2017 games?
Mad Max
Who doesn’t love a bit of open-world, post-apocalyptic action? Mad Max delivers this in spades, with players venturing across expansive wastelands while clobbering foes with meaty weapons and engaging in some adrenaline-fueled vehicular combat antics. We think it’d make a solid entry for PS Plus next month.
Resident Evil Zero
October doesn’t just mean the clocks go back and the dark nights roll in. It’s also Halloween, and therefore we can’t imagine Sony skipping on the chance to roll out an appropriately spooky title for PS Plus — and Resident Evil Zero fits the bill perfectly. The game follows S.T.A.R.S Bravo Team rookie Rebecca Chambers 24 hours before the events of the original game, as she teams up with escaped convict, Billy Coen, to battle against Umbrella’s bio-weapons and uncover a decade old conspiracy involving one of the company’s original founders.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue
Ubisoft’s PS3 high-seas adventure is something of a forgotten gem, often overshadowed by the brilliant Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. While not as grand in terms of scope, Rogue is a gripping stab-happy outing that offers a compelling twist; you’re now an assassin-turned-Templar, and end up hunting down your mates after become disillusioned with the Creed. Quite why Ubisoft missed the chance to port this gem to PS4 is anyone’s guess, but we think it’d make a cracking addition to PS Plus and you’d be mad to miss it up.
Lara Croft Go
Lara Croft Go takes the nimble archaeologist and places her in this turn-based puzzle romp. With forty levels to conquer and increasing difficulty, Lara Croft Go is a brilliant, cerebral spin on the long-running franchise, featuring tricky enemies to conquer and fiendish puzzles to overcome. Fresh out the gate on PS4 last December, we think this would make an ideal contribution to the October PS Plus free games lineup.
