In piece of news that perhaps comes as no surprise to anyone, Grand Theft Auto V will be launching on PlayStation 4 this coming fall.
Speaking on the floor of Sony’s E3 conference, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Andrew House confirmed the much-touted news, mentioning that the latest remastering of Rockstar’s premier title will take full advantage of the PS4’s considerable capabilities, as well as providing an interesting point for Xbox 360 gamers looking to take the plunge with Sony’s PS4. Gamers will be able to transfer their GTA Online progress onto the PS4, regardless if the progress is saved on a PS3 or Xbox 360.
The full list of tweaks and additions will certainly reveal themselves in due course, and if the trailer’s anything to go by – they could very well be substantial.
There was no mention of discounts for gamers who have already forked out for the original title, but we expect confirmation from either Sony or Rockstar on that point soon.
