Bungie has issued a patch for Destiny that nerfs the infamous farming cave in the Old Russia region on Earth. Players had been parking outside the cave with their auto-rifles and benefiting from frequent respawns from enemies inside and the subsequent loot they dropped. The patch ensures that enemies respawn at a much slower pace.
In future patches, Bungie plans to tackle numerious issues, including balancing weapon classes, adding opt-in to voice communication during matchmade activities and making Strike activities less of a grind.
On balancing weapon classes, Bungie had this to say:
“Our goal when balancing Destiny is to never have one player choice– for example a choice of class or weapon– either be so much better than the alternatives that it is the only valid choice or to be so much worse that it would always be a mistake to choose. When we are successful with this kind of balance the result is a wide set of equally compelling player builds, some of which may be preferred by one player or another but none of which is an absolute right or wrong choice.”

Destiny launched on PS4 and Xbox One earlier this month and became the fastest selling new I.P. of all-time in North America and the U.K. In our Destiny review, we summed it up with the following statement: “Destiny’s faux-MMO approach to shooters is a shallow, dull experience that even hardcore fans may find difficult to stick with except to gaze at its worlds or engage in the entertaining competitive multiplayer. “
However, we later wrote an article about how Destiny becomes much more entertaining once players reach level 20.
