DRIVECLUB dev considers compensation as server issues continue

It must be heart-breaking for DRIVECLUB developer Evolution Studios to face such unexpected issues with its PlayStation 4-exclusive racer at launch.

DRIVECLUB received massive hype and plaudits prior to launch, but since its release last week connectivity issues have prevented users from accessing the game servers. It goes without saying that those who purchased the game are also a little upset that the racer hasn’t experienced the best of starts considering the anticipation that was built up pre-release.

Game Director Paul Rustchynsky confirmed via Twitter that none of the issues that players are experiencing now occurred in the beta phase. He was also asked about compensation for players who had bought the full game. He replied by saying “we’re considering all options right now.” Hopefully that means that players will get something free in the future, perhaps a car pack or a tour expansion.

Evolution released a patch on Saturday which was meant to fix some of the issues but it appears that many users still can’t get access DRIVECLUB online. We’re assured that the developer is working around the clock to rectify the problems and we’ll keep you informed of any future update. “We are working hard to get everyone online as soon as possible,” said Evolution.

What would you want in terms of compensation?
