Final Fantasy XV release date set, says Square Enix

Square Enix’s Hajime Tabata has revealed that the company already has a release date in mind for the hotly anticipated JRPG, Final Fantasy XV.

Speaking during an interview with GameKult, Tabata-san commented:

"I can not give the exact date, but I can tell you it has already been set – the final release date and the countries in which it will be released. We are working to release the game on time, but it might take a little more time than you think."

Final Fantasy XV is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game was originally a PS3-exclusive project known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which was formally announced at E3 2006.

After sporadic updates on Versus XIII at various trade shows over the past few years, Square Enix finally re-revealed the title—now known as Final Fantasy XV—at E3 2013 during Sony’s press conference.
