A former employee of Naughty Dog has listed a sequel to the critically acclaimed The Last of Us on his LinkedIn profile.
Michael Knowland, who served as lead character artist on the post-apocalyptic adventure title, departed the former Crash Bandicoot developer in April of this year.
However, aside from listing that he had been working on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End before he left, Knowland also put time into an “unannounced AAA” game. This listing was later changed to The Last of Us 2, according to a poster on NeoGAF.
According to the description of his work on The Last of Us 2, Knowland spent roughly one month prototyping head sculpts on the as-yet unannounced project.
The Last of Us 2 has never been officially confirmed by Naughty Dog, although the studio hasn’t ruled out the possibility of making a follow-up to the original.
The Last of Us was released in June 2013 on PlayStation 3 and was later remastered for PlayStation 4 earlier this summer.
