Troy Baker, the voice actor behind Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’s Ocelot, has described Kojima Productions’ upcoming stealth-action romp as possibly the “biggest game I’ve ever seen.”
Speaking during an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Baker, who has voiced the likes of The Last of Us’ Joel and BioShock Infinite’s Booker DeWitt, extolled the amount of content packed into the game’s open-world setting.
“I’m really excited and anxious to see how people look at this new Metal Gear… It may be the biggest game I’ve ever seen, just in terms of everything you can do, like, Skyrim looks like an afternoon play-pen next to it – it’s massive!” he said.
Baker also heaped praise on his co-star, Kiefer Sutherland, who voices main protagonist Big Boss.
"I wanted to stand up and applaud the guy [at the VGAs], because the way he came out, the heart that he came out with, it’s just very contrite and gracious to all the fans. There was like this understanding underneath and, ‘look, I get it. You don’t want me to be Snake. That’s fine. Neither did I, but let me tell you what made me fall in love with it, and how I told my other friends about how important this story means to the world and to entertainment, period.’”
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is due out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 some time this year.
