Reports that The Order: 1886’s single-player campaign takes just five hours to complete have been rubbished by a user lucky enough to get their hands on a copy of the game.
Speculation on the game’s length originated after PlayStation Network user, wMikkel, was credited earning the ‘A Knight No More’ Trophy, which is awarded for completing the game.
While his time is shown at just under the five hour mark, the user later clarified that this time stamp was not from the start of the game, but from when he earned his first Trophy. In other words, it took him longer than five hours to finish it.
"Usually at the PlayStation office, we get promotional copies prior to release. These are also the ones that are sent out to the media,” he said.
"I didn’t get my first trophy at the start of the game, but I can’t say yet how long it took me. But not 5 hours!"
Furthermore, a separate user on NeoGAF, Verendus, confirmed it took him just north of 10 hours to beat the Ready at Dawn-developed action title:
"It took me just over ten hours to finish the game. I’m sure there are some freaks on GAF who’ll manage to do a very quick playthrough, but I imagine most of you normal folks are going to fall along where I did."
The Order: 1886 is due out on February 20, 2015.
