Usually, by this time of the month, the PlayStation Plus line-up of free games for the following month have been confirmed, but it looks like we won’t know until next week, despite the PlayStation update landing on Tuesday, March 3.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe made the following statement on the PlayStation Blog yesterday, confirming the delayed announcement.
Sorry to keep you good folks waiting,” wrote Sony’s Fred Dutton. “I appreciate you’re all really keen to see the line-up and that it’s frustrating having to hang on a bit longer than usual. Alas, we’re still not quite ready to make the announcement. I can’t give you a firm time at present as to when the post will go live, but we’re working to get it to you as soon as possible. It may well be next week at this stage.”
Speculation is rife about which free PS4, PS3 and PS Vita games will be available for subscribers to the PS Plus service. Earlier this month there was a strong rumour that Helldivers would be one of the PS4 free games in March, but the developer has since come forward to deny the claims. The hottest rumour right now for one of the games to appear is OlliOlli2, which is a PS4 and PS Vita cross-buy title.
It’s interesting to note that in the most recent contact that PlayStation Universe had with OlliOlli2 developer Roll7, just a couple of days ago, there’s still no confirmation of a retail price, only the confirmed launch date of March 3, 2015 – which coincides with the PS Plus free games update.
The full confirmed line-up should be revealed shortly. We’ll keep you posted.
