Australian singer-songwriter Donna Burke has seemingly confirmed that Hideo Kojima, the creator of the Metal Gear franchise, has indeed been fired by Konami as previously speculated.
Burke took to Twitter (via gamerheadlines) to spill the beans on the situation between Kojima-san and Konami:
Yes don’t throw away the Kojima teams work over the last 5 years because upper management fired a genius

@AaronDavidAshby yes but it’s been out in the media for weeks..but it’s true

Burke is no stranger to the Metal Gear franchise, having performed two songs for the series: ‘Heavens Divide’ for Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, and ‘Sins of the Father’ for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Despite all the controversy surrounding the situation with Konami, Snake’s Japanese voice actor, Akio Otsuka, has urged fans not to cancel their pre-orders for The Phantom Pain.
The game launches worldwide on September 1, 2015, for PS4, PS3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
