PlayStation Network is down, and the issue is currently being investigated by SCEA.
@AskPlayStation, the official PlayStation support account, tweeted the following message as reports of the network outage started hitting both Twitter and sites DownDetector.com.
We are aware that users are having issues accessing PSN at the moment. Thanks for your patience as we investigate.

Interestingly, PlayStation’s server status page indicates all systems go.
Meanwhile, past DDOS culprits Lizard Square are claiming credit for the outage. It wouldn’t be the first time they’ve targeted Sony.
