New Street Fighter V details emerge, release date is March 2016

Fresh details on Capcom’s Street Fighter V have dropped via the latest issue of ShortList (via Gematsu), confirming the fighting game will introduce a new gameplay mechanic known as the V-Gauge.

This gauge will fill up as you accumulate damage, and allows the player to unleash something called a V-Trigger move once filled. An example includes Nash’s teleporting capabilities, allowing to get the drop on your opponent.

Also new to the table is the V-Skill, which allows Ryu to parry projectiles and M. Bison to reflect them back at his enemy. Presumably this ties in with the V-Gauge somehow.

Critical Arts are now included, which are utilized once you fill the EX Gauge by causing enough damage to your opponent. These are described as multi-hit strikes.

Finally, it appears Street Fighter V may visit the U.K., as the magazine describes the inclusion of a new stage called King’s Cross Station complete with ‘Queen’s Guard soldiers.’

ShortList claims the game will be released in March 2016, which ties in with previous reports. Street Fighter V will launch on PlayStation 4 and PC, and is expected to receive extensive info at E3 next week

Capcom also forecasts the game to sell around two million copies worldwide.
