Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios (SCE WWS), has admitted that The Last Guardian would have probably been scrapped had fans not continued to ask for an update on the ambitious title.
Quizzed by EDGE (via VideoGamer) if the Team ICO action-adventure could have been canceled even after so many years had passed, Yoshida-san replied: "If everyone stopped asking about it, probably we would have."
Sony re-revealed The Last Guardian during its E3 2015 press conference last month, where it confirmed the game has now moved to PlayStation 4.
Yoshida-san previously commented that the studio ‘has to deliver‘ with the game. The Last Guardian is due for release in 2016. Read our preview here.
