Speaking during an interview with GameSpot, Final Fantasy XV Game Director, Hajime Tabata, confirmed that the hotly anticipated JRPG will receive a simultaneous worldwide release.
While Square Enix has yet to confirm exactly when we’ll be able to get our hands on the game, we at least know FFXV will not arrive in Japan months ahead of the U.S. and Europe; something which has been commonplace for the franchise up to this point.
"This may be something that we are little bit embarrassed to talk about, but really, this is the first time that we’ve done a packaged, standalone Final Fantasy game with a simultaneous global launch,” said Tabata-san.
“So we didn’t have the setup to deal with that, really. The first thing we had to do was rearrange our internal structure to create something that could do that. That was the first important work on the project.”
Final Fantasy XV will be released at some point in 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Tabata-san recently said that he hopes to attract new gamers with the upcoming title, and that the character designs are more grounded in reality.
