Atlus USA assures fans that Persona 5 will have North American release in 2015

In a spate of news that’s sure to leave egg on the faces of the many that predicted otherwise, gaming publisher Atlas has today confirmed that Persona 5 will receive its North American release before the end of this year.

Speaking defiantly in an interview with God is a Geek, Atlus USA PR manager John Hardin assured fans that the fifth mainline entry in the Japanese series would be reaching Western shores by succinctly saying: "The only thing I can confirm for Persona 5 is 2015.”

The news comes after a conspicuous lack of announcement or information regarding the much-anticipated English translation of the game, a lack of confirmation which had lead many to initially believe that the game would fail to leave Japan before the end of the year.

As for a European release, things are still being worked on behind the scenes with Atlus still trying to secure a publisher for a potential launch. Hardin knows more than most how announcing European releases prematurely can be a recipe for disaster.

You can expect Persona 5 to have a mammoth presence at this year’s Tokyo Game Show in September. So as ever, stay tuned for our definitive coverage of the event and for everything Persona-related in-between.
