Star Wars Battlefront PS4 beta coming in October

DICE has announced that the Star Wars Battlefront beta will be heading to PlayStation 4 in early October.

Writing on the PlayStation Blog, the studio confirmed that the beta will host the Walker Assault on Hoth, which allows for up to 40 players split between the Rebels and Empire. Not only that, but gamers will be able to step into the shoes of Star Wars legends Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.

In addition to the battle on Hoth, the beta will allow players to participate in the Survival Mission on Tatooine. Here, Rebels must repel waves of Imperial forces to emerge victorious.

Elsewhere, an all-new mode known as Drop Zone will make its debut in the beta, with more details to be revealed at a later date. Finally, DICE confrimed details on the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience, which you can read up on below.

"Available during the Beta on the official site, the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience features the strategic card game Base Command, and lets you earn in-game Credits that unlock Star Cards, weapons, and more in Star Wars Battlefront.

"In addition to Base Command, the Companion also lets Rebels and Imperials alike check game stats and progression, customize loadouts and appearance, connect with friends, and get notified when they’re playing Star Wars Battlefront — as well as gather intel on their stats and progression so you can see how you match up! The Star Wars Battlefront Companion will be available on web, the Apple App Store and Google Play store prior to the release of Star Wars Battlefront on November 17th."

Star Wars Battlefront is released for PS4, PC and Xbox One in November. The game will be receiving a stunning PS4 hardware bundle featuring a Darth Vader paint job—a fine treat for those who can afford it. Be sure to check out the latest screenshots and trailer via the links provided.
