Sony has brought a life-size projection of The Last Guardian‘s Trico to the Tokyo Game Show 2015 for gamers to interact with.
It was previously hinted by genDesign, who are the creative studio behind the hotly anticipated PlayStation 4-exclusive title, that the game would be putting in an appearance at the event in some shape or another.
True to its word, the company has done something a little different this time around. The Sony booth will play host to a life-size version of Trico, who is project onto a giant screen, controlled by the same artificial intelligence that governs the creature in The Last Guardian.
Check out a short video below via genDesign’s Twitter page. By the look of it, Trico will react to your movements. The Last Guardian is out on PS4 in 2016.
The Last Guardian has suffered from a rather arduous development cycle, having originally been announced way back at E3 2009. Sony originally planned to release Team ICO’s epic adventure in holiday 2011, though the game was delayed and creator Fumito Ueda ended up working on the project in a freelance capacity.
Things were pretty silent over the next few years, though Sony would occasionally pop up to deny rumors of the game’s cancelation and assure the title was still in the works. The format holder re-revealed the game at E3 2015 for PS4. Check out the latest screenshots here.
