Sony Bend’s new PS4 game could be at PlayStation Experience 2015

Sony Bend has suggested that it may finally lift the lid on its mystery PlayStation 4 project at December’s PlayStation Experience in San Francisco.

Writing on Twitter, Eric Jensen, Senior Technical Game Designer at Sony Bend, confirmed that he will be attending PSX: "Hotel booked for PSX. It’s happening," Tweeted Jensen, fuelling hope that company’s PS4 game will be given its long-awaited reveal at the December event.

The British developer has not released a full game since Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the PlayStation Vita in 2012, and the rumour is they have been working on an open-world horror title ever since. Recently, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida teased that Sony Bend’s new game would be the ‘biggest’ title the studio has ever made, although stopped short of revealing any further details on the project. It is, however, rumored to use the Unreal Engine.

Interestingly, it was revealed earlier this year that the company was working on an inFAMOUS title for the PS Vita before it was ultimately scrapped. Sony Bend has since gone on something of a hiring spree indicating the new game is still a way off from release, although hopefully it won’t be long before we find out something more concrete. With PSX the last major event due this year, it would be a nice way to cap off 2015 with a look at one of PS4’s most anticipated releases, we think you’ll agree.

Sony Bend started out life as Eidetic back in 1994 before being snapped up by Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) in 2000, the same year that PlayStation 2 was released. The developer made a name for itself working on the stealth-action series, Syphon Filter, which was released on numerous platforms such as PSOne, PS2 and PSP. In addition, it also developed Resistance Retribution for PSP in 2009, a portable entry in the popular first-person shooter series by Insomniac Games.
