Naughty Dog has shared new footage of its highly anticipated PlayStation 4-exclusive adventure sequel, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, showcasing more of newcomer Nadine Ross in action.
The footage, seen below, confirms that Ross is acquainted with Nathan Drake’s partner and long-time mentor, Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan, and are seen chatting at a swanky party, with Ross offering to buy Sully a drink. Evidently, she doesn’t seem to have much bad history with the ageing treasure hunter, which is just as well, as we’ve already seen her fighting prowess displayed in a scuffle with Drake.
Speaking of Drake, he and his brother, Sam, are busy sneaking into the venue’s basement, and are listening in on the conversation via concealed earpieces.
Ross’s character is voiced by Laura Bailey, a decision that Naughty Dog defended during a panel at the PlayStation Experience 2015. Not much is known about the character at present, other than the fact she’s from South Africa and is part of a group of mercenaries.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is scheduled for release on PS4 on March 18, 2016. Naughty Dog has confirmed numerous times that the game will be the final instalment in Drake’s adventures, and has said it is unsure whether or not the series can continue without the cock fortune hunter. The game sees Drake embarking on a globe-trotting mission to find a legendary pirate’s treasure, and will be joined in his adventure by Sully and his brother, Sam, who up until now was thought to have perished during a previous mission.
Unlike previous entries in the series, which has sold over 21 million copies since its inception in 2007, Uncharted 4 will utilise optional dialogue choice during key moments of the game. Naughty Dog explained, however, that it won’t offer the same freedom as open-world titles.
