Tales of Berseria will play a part in the Zestiria world

The world of Glenwood is no longer bound only to Tales of Zestiria, according to the most recent report from Weekly Famitsu.

Set well before the events of Zestiria, Tales of Berseria will take place in the same world, but it will then be referred to as the Wasteland. As expected, towns and human-made landmarks will be different through the game. However, some of the geographical locations found in the game will be recognizable in some form in the Wasteland of Berseria, undoubtedly with some differences in appearance.

The update also indicated one key improvement to Berseria when compared to Zestiria. In our review of Zestiria, the camera became something of a burden at time and didn’t cooperate. Berseria is expected to have a similar premise to combat, but the camera will be easy to manage with "improved controls and field of vision."

Berseria’s characters designers will be the same group from Zestiria; including Mutsumi Inomata, Kosuke Fujishima, Daigo Okumura, and Minoru Iwamoto. Considering both Berseria and Zestiria are within the same universe, keeping that consistency is a smart development choice.

Tales of Berseria launched on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan in 2016. The western release period is still unannounced, but the West will get Berseria on both PS4 and PC once it arrives.
