PlayStation VR could be priced at $299, according to the latest rumor reported to be from the mouth of a “Sony rep.”
Via Reddit, sirdomino claims that his source has heard rumours from within the company that Sony is hoping to launch the standalone headset for $299, with the other peripherals needed (Move controllers and a PlayStation Camera) coming at an extra cost.
The price ties in with many previous rumors and internet commentators who believe that $299 would be the sweet spot for PlayStation VR, allowing the headset to compete and probably outsell the much higher priced Oculus Rift.
It’s worth nothing however that Sony has not even hinted at an official price yet, and some sources suggest that the price could actually be much higher.

PlayStation VR is scheduled for release in the first half of 2016 and will be compatible with some existing PS4 titles, including DriveClub, War Thunder and Project CARS. New titles include The London Heist, Jurassic Encounter and Dreams.
