Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter release date announced

Developer Frogwares has today announced that the next installment in their Sherlock Holmes series will be arriving sooner than most of us might have thought.

Set to arrive on PlayStation 4 on May 27, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter is technically the eighth entry in the long-running adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famously entertaining British supersleuth.

Combining free-roaming exploration with branching dialogue, detective-based minigames and a highly detailed rendering of Victorian London, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter looks to have all the right ingredients to entice armchair investigators when it arrives on PS4 in just over three months time.

For the record, we rather enjoyed the previous game, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments when it released in late 2014 on PS4, citing its well constructed cases and deduction-based mechanics.

In addition to the release date announcement, the box art for Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter has also been revealed and quite honestly it looks like one of the best examples of box art we’ve seen to date (yes DOOM, we’re looking at you).
