BioShock: The Collection for PS4 and Xbox One rated by ESRB in North America

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has posted a rating for the long-rumored BioShock: The Collection on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.

The bundle has been outed numerous times over the past few months, and as expected, the ESRB’s rating falls in line with previous info drops: the collection will include updated versions of BioShock, BioShock 2 and BioShock Infinite for current-generation systems.

Specifically, the ESRB states that the pack is "a collection of three first-person shooters in which players assume the role of characters uncovering the mysteries behind the dystopian societies of Rapture and Columbia."

Publisher 2K has yet to announce the BioShock Collection yet, but we expect to hear something soon—after all, even the box art has been leaked.

BioShock was released on the Xbox 360 and PC in summer 2007, and later arrived on PS3 the following year. A sequel, BioShock 2, arrived in early 2010 across all last-gen systems, with the series receiving its third—and to date, final—instalment with BioShock Infinite in spring 2013.

The creator of the series, Ken Levine, announced at E3 2011 that a BioShock game was in production for the PlayStation Vita, though this ultimately never materialised. Developer Irrational Games later folded following Infinite’s release.
