Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida has revealed on the PlayStation Blog that a number of copies of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End have been stolen while in transit.
While the format holder is currently working with the police in order to resolve the issue, Yoshida-san took the opportunity to warn gamers to be ever vigilant in regards to the possibility of spoilers flooding the web.
“We know that very many of you have been looking forward with great anticipation and excitement to the latest masterpiece from Naughty Dog. From what I have played of Nathan Drake’s latest adventure, I can tell you that it is very much worth the wait. As with most Naughty Dog games, the unfolding story is such an integral part of the experience and for this reason we wanted to warn you to beware of the potential for spoilers to be posted by people with access to stolen copies of the game.”
Yoshida-san’s post follows yesterday’s story that various retailers had broken the street date for Uncharted 4, with some gamers reporting they already received their copies of the hotly anticipated PlayStation 4-exclusive sequel.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is scheduled for release on May 10, 2016. The game takes place a few years after Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, and sees Nate coming out of retirement as a fortune hunter when his long-lost brother turns up in a spot of financial bother.
Reunited with his older sibling, Nate brings Sully along for the ride as the trio embark on a globetrotting hunt for a pirate treasure once owned by the legendary Henry Avery.
