Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trilogy coming to PS4, according to Amazon

Retail giant Amazon U.K. has posted a listed for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trilogy, presumably coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

There’s not an awful lot to go on aside from a listing of the bundle, with no box art or even a release date included in the filing. Curiously, it says ‘Call Duty’ instead of ‘Call of Duty,’ which makes one call into question its authenticity. The listing has now been removed.

If that wasn’t enough to raise eyebrows, Twitter’s Charlie Intel warns that the listing is not legit, and is rather just a third-parting filing. Interestingly, developer Infinity Ward’s own account has Tweeted ‘stay frosty,’ so make of that what you will.

It’s also worth pointing out that a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will reportedly be offered with the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which is the rumored 2016 entry of the multi-million selling franchise.

Modern Warfare was released back in November 2007 on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and is widely considered one of the greatest first-person shooters of all time.

Developed by Infinity Ward, the game is also cited as reinvigorating the Call of Duty series by introducing a contemporary setting, taking the series out of the trappings of World War II. Two sequels would follow in the shape of 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and 2011’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Activision is expected to officially reveal the next Call of Duty title before next Tuesday.
