Bandai Namco Games has announced that the next batch of Dark Souls 3 DLC, Ashes of Ariandel, will launch on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on October 25, 2016.

"Return to the world of Dark Souls 3 and uncover a terrible secret that lies within an unnamed frozen land," the blurb reads. "Players will find themselves steeped in a brand new environment filled with terrifying new enemies, challenges, and exciting lore to fill out the overarching Dark Souls 3 storyline.
"Players are tasked to enter this new world and defeat the evil within and uncover the mystery of what has caused the land to become defiled. In addition to adding a new environment to Dark Souls 3, the Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel expansion will also include new weapons, armour sets, and magic for players to discover and experiment with, as well as new features for the game’s wildly popular competitive multiplayer mode."

Dark Souls 3 was released back in April 2016 and is noted for becoming Bandai Namco America’s fastest-selling videogame, and went on to sell over three million copies in just two months.
The game is a continuation of the popular ‘Souls’ franchise which began with the 2009 cult classic Demon’s Souls for PS3. While not a direct follow-up, 2011’s Dark Souls is seen as a spiritual successor to that game, and broke into mainstream success with the 2014 sequel.
