Reports have been circulating over the past couple days that players may be charged for PS4 Pro patches to upgrade existing games to the new 4K resolution, but Sony has been quick to deny the claim.

Probably lost in translation, Japanese website Game Impress Watch conducted an interview with Sony Interactive Entertainment vice president, Masayasu Ito. His words were then translated and copied by numerous gaming sites, including Kotaku, suggesting that patches could cost consumers.
Polygon has now confirmed that Sony “will not charge consumers for patches.”
So far, the following games have been confirmed for PS4 Pro support, including the likes of Mass Effect Andromeda, Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
The PS4 Pro specs confirm that the new console, which launches on November 10, 2016, will include an upgraded CPU and GPU.
A PS4 HDR update for all PlayStation 4 models will arrive in firmware update 4.0, giving players the chance to experience better quality visuals on compatible TVs. A release date for the update has yet to be confirmed.
