Capcom has released a new gameplay video of Resident Evil 7: biohazard for your viewing pleasure, this time offering a sneak peak at the game’s combat system.
Resident Evil 7 gameplay: Ethan vs Jack Baker
The brutal clip offers glimpse at how you’ll be dealing with the tenacious Jack Baker; a seemingly indestructible foe who will pursue you throughout the game, although like Nemesis from Resident Evil 3, can be temporarily incapacitated by gunfire. Despite flooring the hilly billy-flavored foe, Jack is back on his feet pretty sharpish, and he’s none too pleased either.

Resident Evil 7 was unveiled during Sony’s E3 2016 press conference and will hit PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on January 24, 2017. The game will be fully compatible with PSVR, a feature which will remain exclusive to Sony for approximately 12 months, and Sony later confirmed the game will also feature PS4 Pro support.
Set an undisclosed amount of time after Resident Evil 6, this latest entry in Capcom’s long-running horror franchise takes place from a first-person perspective—a first for a mainline Resident Evil title—and is set on a mysterious plantation mansion in Louisiana, U.S. Gamers control newcomer Ethan, as he searches the estate for his missing wife while battling against the malevolent Baker family.
The Resident Evil 7 demo is now available to download via the PlayStation Store, while the Kitchen VR preview, which was a tech demo released at E3 2015, is also available to download for those who own Sony’s virtual reality headset. Capcom has indicated that Resi 7 demo will be updated again at some point prior to the game’s release early next year.
