God of War director Cory Barlog has said that the hotly anticipated PlayStation 4 action-adventure game won’t be showcased during Sony’s PlayStation Experience event in December.

Despite the fact Kratos’ latest bloodbath won’t be putting in an appearance at Sony’s annual games extravaganza, Barlog did promise something ‘really awesome’ for when we next catch a glimpse at the stunning-looking actioner.
“Sadly, I won’t be showing anything of the game at PSX, just heading there to hang out with PlayStation fans and play games. I promise we will be showing something really awesome when it is ready,” said Barlog.
God of War was formally announced during Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, where an extensive gameplay demo was showcased alongside a full-blown orchestra giving us a taste of game’s stellar soundtrack. Kratos is once again back, only this time the action is based around Norse mythology and our favorite anti-hero is accompanied by his son. Kratos is also said to manage his infamous rage, too.

Sony has yet to announce a God of War release date, though it is believed the game will launch at some point next year. Developer Santa Monica made a conscious decision not to attach a numerical title to the game, although confirmed it is a continuation of the franchise; therefore, Kratos’ latest outing indeed takes place after his revenge against the Gods of Olympus.
Unlike the prequel God of War Ascension, this latest instalment in the popular series won’t feature a multiplayer component. However, the main campaign is said to be quite substantial in terms of length, and it also won’t be the last game to feature Kratos as the main character. In terms of performance, Santa Monica has said that God of War will likely clock in at 30fps.
