Bandai Namco Games has announced a June 2, 2017 release date for the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of Tekken 7.

In addition, the publishing giant confirmed that a Tekken 7 Collector’s Edition is on its way alongside the standard version of the fighting game sequel, which comes with a host of extra content including a Kazuya and Heihachi Mishima figurine and CD soundtrack. Check it out below.

Tekken 7 gameplay looks set to shake up the franchise

Tekken 7 will also benefit from a Season Pass allowing gamers to access additional, post-launch content such as extra playable characters, new stages, a fresh game mode, and various other bits and bobs. There’s also a PS4-exclusive feature, Jukebox, which lets you customise the game’s soundtrack with some classic Tekken tunes, plus a host of classic character costumes that date back to Tekken 2 and Tekken 3.

Tekken 7 promises an epic conclusion to the long-running Mishima family feud, and introduces a wealth of new characters, including the series’ first ever Saudi Arabian brawler, Shaheen. In addition, Akuma from the Street Fighter universe pops in to mix things up, and is heavily involved with the game’s storyline. Don’t expect a roster the size of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, however; Namco has trimmed the fact in this respect, with a few notable faces missing from the lineup.

Namco hasn’t got complacent with the gameplay this time around, with a number of new additions thrown into the mix to complement the bread-and-butter punch-ups. Chief among these extra features is the new Rage Arts and Power Crush move set, which allows you to perform an ultra-deadly attack and absorb damage while still smacking your opponent for some health, respectively.
