Ni No Kuni PS4 details drop

According to Akhiro Hino, the PS4 version of the hotly anticipated JRPG sequel is aiming at 60fps, something which the developer is also targeting for the PlayStation 4 Pro version of Ni No Kuni 2. Elsewhere, it appears the studio is aiming to make the sequel more accessible to those outside of Japan.

"We really care about having a worldwide sensibility this time around. In the first game we had a character doing Manzai, for example, but since this game will also be released at the same time for Japanese and Western audiences, from a localization point of view we’re really making it as straightforward as possible for players of all cultures to understand,” explained Hino-san.

The sequel to the critically acclaimed Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, Level 5’s latest outing was announced at the PlayStation Experience in December 2015, and follows King Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum’s attempts to reclaim his kingdom after being usurped from his castle. He’s joined in his efforts by a chap named Roland, a visitor from another world. A new trailer was showcased at last year’s PSX event.

Publisher Namco Bandai Games has yet to announce a Ni No Kuni 2 release date, although it has confirmed the game will be available in 2017. The original game has sold over 1.4 million units to date. Read our Ni No Kuni review to see if it’s working picking up for PS3.
