Original: Bandai Namco Games has announced that it will roll out a new Tekken 7 update for PlayStation 4 later this week.
The update(s) will tackle the much-publicised ranked match issues which have plagued the fighting game sequel since its launch last Friday. In addition, Namco said they are also looking to address a number of bugs within the game, although did not go into any details are present. The PS4 version of the patch will roll out later this week.
Tekken 7’s ranked games are currently difficult to get into as it is not possible to connect to an opponent. However, Tekken boss Katsuhiro Harada has detailed a workout for the time being; simply wait in the lobby as the game ‘searches for a session’ and you will eventually be challenged by someone. Accept the invite and you’ll get into a match with no problems. PSU has tested this method thoroughly and it works like a charm.
In addition to ironing out these issues, Namco is likely to tweak a few other features for the online multiplayer, such as removing the ability to see your opponent and rank before a fight. Previous Tekken console games did not allow you to do this, so it’s unsurprising it wasn’t too well received by gamers following Tekken 7’s release.
Tekken 7 will be supported by a range of post-launch DLC, which includes new costumes, characters, and an extra game mode. A recent leak has suggested we’ll see the return of Tekken Bowl, although nothing has been confirmed by Namco as of yet.
