SEGA has announced that it is giving out free downloadable content for Yakuza Kiwami for those who purchase the upcoming action-brawler on launch day.
The free DLC will be offered weekly throughout September, and contains various cosmetic items and consumables for you to tinker with. To claim them, you’ll have to visit the Tenkaichi Street Gate and grab the items from Bob Utsunomiya, who isn’t hard to miss as he’s dressed as a creepy clown.

- September 5: Kiwami Fun Pack – Dragon tattoo for topless Kiryu, modified model gun, gold plate, and consumables
- September 12: Kiwami Street Pack – Prins outfit for Kiryu and Stone of Enduring, which protects against critical attacks
- September 19: Kiwami Fun Pack 2 – Black suit, Marlin Cannon
- September 26: Snake Skin jacket for Maxima, pocket circuit parks and Sacrifice Stone
Yakuza Kiwami is due for release on PlayStation 4 on August 29, 2017. The game is a full-blown remake of the original 2005 gangster-’em-up released on the PS2, and includes high-definition visuals, frame rate, textures, and other visual and performance enhancements over the original version of the game.
New gameplay features have also been implemented, including the ability to switch between different fighting styles for protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, plus new scenes that help tidy up some of the various plot points that were left previously unresolved.
In addition to the release of Yakuza Kiwami, SEGA is also prepping the western launch of Yakuza 6 in early 2018. The PS4-exclusive sequel was originally released in Japan in December 2016. If that wasn’t enough, the Japanese publisher has confirmed that a brand new game is in development.
The Yakuza franchise has sold over 9.3 million copies worldwide as of 2016, and is particularly successful in its native Japan, where the franchise has seen a number of exclusive releases and spin-offs, such as Yakuza Kenzan and Yakuza Ishin.
