Announced and shown at this year’s E3, Dragon Ball FighterZ turned a lot of heads with its amazing visuals, and combo-heavy gameplay courtesy of Arc System Works (Guilty Gear franchise). Courtesy of the latest issue of Japanese magazing Weekly Jumpand V-Jump (and translated by Gematsu), we now have more details about the fighting game’s story mode, as well as the confirmation of new fighters added to the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster.
First off, Super Sayian Blue Goku, Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta, Android 16, and Android 18 are all confirmed to be part of the lineup. The four are joining the previously announced fighters: Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Frieza, Cell, Piccolo, Trunks, Krillin and Majin Buu.
The Dragon Ball FighterZ story mode will include a revived Android 16 and is described as a scenario where "super warriors fall one by one," and how it’s a "new story for Goku and friends depicted in high-end animation."
On the gameplay front, online party matches will be part of the game, and these will be three-on-three online matches with different players controlling each character. Characters can and will be able to switch in real time, which means you constantly have to be on your toes.
Dragon Ball FighterZ will be out sometime in 2018, but it will have an invite-only beta this September.
