Destiny 2 DLC plans hinted at by Bungie

Bungie is keeping the majority of its Destiny 2 DLC plans under wraps for now, but the former Halo developer has let slip a few interesting tidbits on what to expect from post-launch content for the upcoming shooter.

Chiefly, the studio has suggested that the Vex, the mechanical enemies that played a significant role in the original shared-world shooter, may feature at some point in Destiny 2 DLC. For now, they aren’t a major player in the game’s narrative, which focuses on the Cabal.

The Vex don’t play specifically a role in the conflict between the Red Legion, but while you’re playing through Destiny 2, while you’re playing a bunch of the different content, we are pointing at places we are going to go next. Part of the fun of making and playing games is seeing that intention and knowing that it’s all going somewhere,” said Bungie’s Luke Smith.

Fans have speculated that the Vex may feature in the first expansion for Destiny 2, as art work has seemingly confirmed it’ll feature Osiris. Why is this significant? Well, this mysterious character is not only a Guardian, but also a Vex expert, who uses his knowledge to learn how to defeat the mechanised foes.

If that wasn’t enough, a cinematic leaked earlier this year that featured the Vex, which was later confirmed to bet set on the planet Ios, one of the game’s new locations.

Destiny 2 is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2017, with a PC version following on October 24. The game takes place following a devastating attack on the Tower by the Red Legion, a deadly Cabal unit lead by Destiny’s new Big Bad, Ghaul.

Bungie this week confirmed that Destiny 2 HDR support will be implemented following the game’s launch. Be sure to make a note of the Destiny 2 preload date for those of you who have pre-ordered the digital edition of the shooter.
