Original Story:

Sony has released a stash of brand new God of War PS4 concept art for your viewing pleasure, following a fan successfully decoded a run posted on the format holder’s official Twitter page.

This latest batch of images focuses on a wintery setting, with frozen landscapes populated by various nasties, including what looks like wights, undead, and a gigantic pair of looks belonging to what we can only imagine is some sort of colossal beast.

The new God of War images feature both Kratos and his son, Atreus, and depicts a massive-looking temple in the background looming over the duo.

Check them out below.

God of War release date

Sony confirmed earlier this year that God of War will be released in 2018, and will be the most brutal entry in the long-running franchise to date. The game will take full advantage of the PS4’s horsepower, and is already shaping up to be one of the best-looking games on the system to date.

Unlike the previous games in the franchise, God of War on PS4 will feature creatures based on Norse mythology, replacing the Greek-flavored monstrosities we’ve become accustomed to up to this point.

Kratos returns as the main protagonist, although as we’ve previously touched on he’ll be joined in the fray by his young son this time around. As such, players can also expect to engage in dynamic combat as the duo work together to battle foes.
