Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed details on the Overwatch Halloween Event 2017, which gives players a chance to grab new cosmetic items.
Overwatch Halloween Terror 2017
Dubbed Overwatch Halloween Terror, the ghoulish event will kick off on October 11 and will run throughout the month, wrapping up on November 11.
Halloween Terror 2017 will come to PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One players, and issues a number of Halloween-themed skins. McRee and Reaper will be receiving new outfits for the event, although further details have yet to be confirmed.
"The nights grow cold / And monsters appear / A great evil gathers / And Halloween draws near…,” Blizzard teased.
So far, Blizzard has only added that the Overwatch Halloween event 2017 will introduce “spooky new content.” However, it’s likely we may see the return of the co-op outing Junkenstein’s Revenge, which is a type of Horde mode.
As mentioned, we don’t yet know the finer details of what to expect from this year’s spooky festivities. However, as soon as we find out what Halloween Overwatch skins will be available, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Last year’s Overwatch Halloween event was a massive success, so it’s likely that Blizzard will look to top it with 2017’s offering.
Blizzard has supported its critically acclaimed shooter with numerous updates since its launch in May 2016. For example, the Overwatch Summer Event proved a major event, offering new loot and skins for players to uncover.
Overwatch has proved a huge success for Blizzard since launch, with the player base reaching 30 million by April 2017. The game was also the seventh best-selling title in North America based on revenue for 2016.
