It’s been a long time since we first heard about the PlayStation 3-exclusive photography simulator Afrika back at E3 in 2006. The simulator was originally released in Japan and little information was passed on to the West. However, IGN has today uncovered news that Natsume will be bringing Afrika to the U.S. at some point in the near future.
In the game you are tasked with taking photos of wildlife and plants in the African wilderness. While it isn’t a high-action game, some wannabe wildlife photographers will get the thrill of snapping shots of lions from the safety of their couches. The game is sure to attract a niche crowd of fans who are looking for a break from traditional videogames.
Developed by Rhino Studios, Afrika features licensing from Sony and National Geographic, among other companies. An exact release date has yet to be revealed, though we expect more info at E3 next week.
