Dotemu and Guard Crush Games have outlined plans for Absolum with the release of version 1.1, known as Threads of Fate, in early 2026, bringing with it a bunch of new content including Mystic Ordeals and corrupted regions.
First up is Mystic Ordeals, which allow players to challenge themselves and other Rebels across the globe. Once you’ve defeated the ‘final foe,’ Rebels will discover new pre-set ordeals, which offers a new layer of challenge on top of the standard play through. You can also customise your own challenge and share your unique code with others via Discord or Reddit’s official channels.
Beyond this, players will now face corrupted regions as part of the game’s evolving world in the new update. These areas are visible with Maugis’ map and feature tougher foes and offer greater rewards for Rebels with the stones to take on these new challenges. You can avoid them if you want, and you can also alter the frequency of these corrupted regions via the Mystic ordeals.
Threads of Fate will also add new Elite mounts for the taking, which come with upgraded attacks to aid you in battle and can be found in various regions. Meanwhile, Aboslum will be adding new in-game emotes, some of which will feature unique voice lines.
