Remedy’s Communications Director, Thomas Puha, has confirmed on Twitter that Alan Wake 2 will feature a Performance Mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
When asked if this would mean the game would be targeting 60 FPS or locked at a stable frame rate, Puha noted that developer is “still tweaking that”
I’m glad to say that Alan Wake 2 will have a Performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The game has been built from the beginning as a 30fps experience focusing on visuals and ambiance, but somehow we have managed to include a solid Performance mode. We’ll talk details later.
Alan Wake 2 is scheduled for release on October 27, 2023 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The game takes place 13 years after the events of the original Alan Wake, with the eponymous writer still trapped in the Dark Place. Meanwhile, Bright Falls has been plagued by a string of ritualistic murders, prompting FBI agent Saga Anderson to investigate, setting the scene for two unique campaigns.
